I KNOW it does in Pools of Darkness, but recently I've gone back to POR, and I'm finding that my fighters, with CON of 19 are getting only 5 HP per level, irrespective of the CON bonus, which should be 5 (so they can't get less than 6). Create them as Half-Elves, them change them to human. The most kick-ass party consists of 4 Fighter/Magic User/Cleric and 1 Fighter/ Magic User/Thief. Increase jewelry so that you can buy the good crossbow at the silver shop. Once the characters are created, change the race to human so that advancement can be maxed. Hex editor and open up one of your characters save file and try changing some of the numbers, though if you are going to do so you should make sure that you have all your files backed up before doing so and keep track of what numbers you change. Using the POR that came on a CD with all Gold box games. When I save a party, exit to DOS and return to the game, All party slots are now filled with copies of a single character. C:\poolrad\Įnsure the fourth line points to the save directory and ends in a backslash. Also keep in mind these paths will be relative to the Dosbox mountpoint.Įnsure the third line points to root directory of the install and ends in a backslash. With the goldbox edition the default installation paths in pool.cfg need to have a backslash appended to them. One is to add \ to the end of both file paths. If you are using the gold cd that has all nine games there are two things you have to do to get it to run. Pool of Radiance Gold Box with all 9 Games ( 21:54) I am having the same problem as hozz, and I have fixed the cfg file. cfg file had c:poolrad and c:poolrad Since mounting makes this the root directory I changed the first one to just c: The save/load feature looks for a save folder so I changed the second line to c:save Before running I created the save folder and moved the two presaved games into it. The Gamefest installer seems to mess it up for Dosbox. I have the Gamefest version running on XP. I had the same problem as Jdb81 and Hozz. They should all be c:(backslash) and c:(backslash)save(backslash). In my previous post the backslashes didn't save in the post for some reason.
